The Institute of Economics and Rural Development (IERD) of the Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences (LCSS), together with its partner ESTEP, has won a public procurement contract announced by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania to provide consultancy services for preparations for the 2028–2034 European Union funding period and to support the further development of the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) after 2027. As part of the project, the expert team will provide analytical and strategic advice in the preparation of the CAP section of Lithuania's National and Regional Partnership Plan.

The project encompasses a comprehensive range of tasks, from analysing the needs and challenges of Lithuania's agricultural and rural sectors to developing intervention strategies, assessing funding scenarios, justifying investment priorities, modelling support measures, and providing recommendations for the more effective implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy. The consultancy services will be underpinned by data analysis, economic evaluation, research evidence, international best practices, and emerging trends in European Union policy development.

This project further strengthens LCSS IERD's position in the fields of public policy, strategic planning, economic evaluation, and impact assessment. Together with ESTEP, the Institute aims to contribute to the development of policy solutions that will support a competitive, resilient, and sustainable Lithuanian agricultural sector, enhance the effective planning of EU investments, and provide a robust analytical foundation for policy decisions in the upcoming EU funding period.
