From 1 to 3 October 2025, Dr. Monika Belhaj, a researcher at the Institute of Economics and Rural Development of the Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences (EKVI), participated in the General Assembly and the annual conference of the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) – “Open Living Lab Days 2025”, held in Andorra. The event brought together living lab experts, researchers, and practitioners from all five continents.
During the General Assembly, participants discussed ENoLL’s strategic directions, the engagement of new members, and the role of living labs in fostering social and technological innovation across Europe and beyond. Discussions also focused on network expansion opportunities, international cooperation, and the contribution of living labs to sustainable solutions.
One of the highlights of the event was the ENoLL membership certificate award ceremony, during which Dr. Monika Belhaj received the membership certificate of the Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences, Institute of Economics and Rural Development’s living lab — LIRA Lab (Living Innovations for Regional Advancement).
The laboratory, led by Principal Researcher Dr. Rita Lankauskienė, was officially admitted to the ENoLL network upon the successful completion of the accreditation process, thereby gaining international recognition, visibility, and access to a global collaboration platform. The main areas of activity of LIRA Lab include the development of regional ecosystems, modelling of artificial intelligence solutions, scenario building with stakeholder groups, and the promotion of innovation commercialization.
This recognition marks an important step in strengthening Lithuania’s living labs network and advancing international scientific cooperation in the field of regional development.
