Price elasticity of demand for eggs in Lithuania (in Lithuanian language)

Price elasticity of demand for various food products has been broadly analysed in foreign scientific literature, because it is relevant ratio and it helps market members to plan their activity. However, price elasticity of demand for these products in Lithuania has not been researched yet. Analysis was carried out to determine price elasticity of demand for eggs in Lithuania. In order to achieve the stated purpose, changes in retail price and consumption of eggs during the period of ten years were analysed and the coefficient of elasticity was calculated. Research methods: analysis, comparison, systematization and generalization of scientific literature and statistical data. The results show that demand for eggs is relatively inelastic in Lithuania.
