Risk Management in Agriculture: A Theoretical Insights (in Lithuanian language)

This study focuses on the importance of risk management in the agriculture in the context of sustainable development. The study revealed and highlighted the importance of risk and its management in agriculture, analysed and systematized risk management strategies, highlighted their key risk management strategies elements, identified the causes and consequences of individual risks in agriculture and their impact on sustainable agricultural development. The main contribution of the study is the proposed conceptual risk management model in agriculture. The empirical application focuses on the synthesis and analysis of the research studies published over the past decade and to identify major findings and determine the areas for future research. The main principles of behavioural economics have been further explored, which identify potential interferences that influence an individual's decision-making process. The findings of the study are important in guiding policy makers with regards to decisions on agricultural risk management development. As regards the theoretical contribution, the results obtained in this study can also be applied in other sectors.
