This paper deals with the methodological aspects of assessment of the international competitiveness of agriculture. Since the competiveness is a category of market evaluation, the market related indicators of the particular agricultural sector are used in this proposed methodology. In order to assess the competitiveness of the particular agricultural sector the comparability methodology of the competitiveness indicators was chosen. The level of the competitiveness was classified according the rank positions. The assessment of the competitiveness of pig farming in Lithuania was presented as an example of application of the methodology.
