Agriculture in Lithuania, Poland and Slovenia experienced drastic changes after the accession to the EU. Entrepreneurial competencies are demanded to deal with these changes. Therefore, entrepreneurship and competencies of dairy farmers were studied by means of a survey among 334, 334 and 362 dairy farmers in Lithuania, Poland and Slovenia respectively. These countries were considered to reflect farm communities in Central and Eastern European and other similar countries.

The aim is to estimate the level of shadow economy in the regions of Lithuania during the year of 2012-2016 after having identified causal factors in this article. The topic is very relevant to such countries of transition economy like Lithuania, where huge separation exists between regions and big cities. Deeper social problems in regions, lack of job places, absence of investments and emigration to bigger cities of a country or abroad create conditions for the growth of criminal offenses and shadow economy.

In the context of shortage of natural resources in Ukraine, the problem of evaluating efficiency of the implementation of renewable energy sources (RES) becomes of particular importance and comes in first place, since its solution will reduce the energy dependence of the state. Theoretical, methodological and practical issues of diversification of energy sources and evaluation of their effectiveness have found their development in modern works of domestic and foreign scientists.

This paper discusses and elicits consumer attitudes towards industrial carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and storage (ICCS) products and technologies. It presents a comprehensive review of the relevant research literature on consumer attitudes towards ICCS represented by the willingness-to-pay (WTP) and willingness-to-accept (WTA) negative externalities and outcomes of the carbon capture and storage (the so-called “not-in-my-backyard” (NIMBY) approach).

This paper estimates the shadow price of CO2 from burning maize straw in the Chinese agricultural sector and explores the related policy implications for decision makers. Using a quadratic directional distance function, we evaluate the production inefficiency and shadow prices of CO2 reduction for the seven major maize-producing provinces in China for 1996-2014. In general, the efficiency improves over time.

This paper aims at measuring productivity and efficiency of China’s three most important grain crops-rice, wheat and maize-as well as identifying the main directions of technical change prevailing in their production. The bias-corrected Malmquist production indices are employed to measure the technical changes (TCs) in terms of input-saving or input-using in China’s grain production, by using provincial aggregate data obtained from the National Farm Production Costs and Returns Survey.

This paper constructs a dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) model to analyze the effects of energy price, technology, and disaster shocks on China's Energy-Environment-Economy (3E) system. It also studies stylized facts, as well as co-integration and error correction dynamic analyses, of this system.

Understanding the relationships among CO2 emissions, energy consumption, and economic growth helps nations to develop energy sources and formulate energy policies in order to enhance sustainable development. The present research is aimed at developing a novel efficient model for analyzing the relationships amongst the three aforementioned indicators in G20 countries using an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) model in the period from 1962 to 2016. In this regard, the ANFIS model has been used with prediction models using real data to predict CO2 emissions based on two important input indicators, energy consumption and economic growth.

The measurement of sustainability is actively used today as one of the main preventative instruments in order to reduce the decline of the environment. Sustainable decision-making in solving energy issues can be supported and contradictory effects can be evaluated by scientific achievements of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques. The main goal of this paper is to overview the application of decision-making methods in dealing with sustainable energy development issues.
