Bioeconomy comprises a novel approach towards economic development in the European Union (EU). Its development should be confined by the planetary boundaries (biocapacity). We integrate the land footprint approach related to production and land biocapacity to assess the trends in capacity and productivity of bioeconomy in the EU countries throughout 1997-2013. Results show that the level of production-based land footprint and land biocapacity vary across the EU countries. However, Belgium is the sole case where production-based land footprint exceeds land biocapacity.

The economic situation of Lithuanian agricultural sector faces with challenges in regards to family farms’ income instability and income discrepancies between family farms. The aim of this paper is to assess the economic sustainability of Lithuanian sector at farm level across farm size classes in terms of physical size and by specialization.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) pointed out that thermal electricity generation was the largest contributor to the CO2 emissions in 2018, particularly in China. Inequality and spatial decomposition analyses have been extensively applied to monitor CO2 emissions and climate change. However, there have been no studies focusing on the inequality of CO2 emissions or aggregate carbon intensity (ACI) in the electricity sector.

Renewable energy sources (RES) are the main drivers of sustainable energy development. Notwithstanding the substantial expansion of renewables in the past decade, boosted by the various policies and measures, renewable energy sources are still far from full incorporation into the energy markets. It is necessary to overcome the remaining impediments for renewables to realize the energy transition to 100% renewable energy.

The study used the following general scientific methods of theoretical and empirical research: a systematic approach - to justification for parametric index at set prices based on the additional premium for quality, based on the use of quantitative and qualitative indicators; methods of theoretical generalization - for grouping the principles and functions of prices in the context of the concept of cognitive marketing; the method of dispersion analysis - to detect and assess the price formation dependence not only on quantitative characteristics (material costs), but also on the qualitative characteristics of the product (parametric quality index); the method of correlation-regression analysis - for constructing a regression model of pricing.

Sustainable agriculture is the basis for long-term economic growth ensuring employment for the rural population. The aim of this research is to assess the dynamics in agricultural output, investments, direct payments and energy use in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) during 2008-2017.

A timely response to a fluctuating and ever-changing consumer demand is an important decision for a company, as it may impact its position in the market. Thus, proper inventory management becomes a focal point in retail business process management and can provide a substantial competitive advantage.

Currently, developing the tax system and improving financial relations between the state and taxpayer are rather important aspects of reforming the economic situation and are relevant to this study. The purpose of this article is to substantiate the scientific approaches to the reform of modern tax systems and to identify effective directions for their practical implementation.

This paper aims to investigate the transmission of beef meat prices along the supply chain in Lithuania. A set of econometric techniques allows studying relationships between prices on the farm and at the retail store level during the period from 2010 to 2017.
