This paper investigates price transmission on the potato market of a small producing country, namely Lithuania, and the influence of the neighbouring main producing country (Poland) on the price setting over the period of 2017–2023. The research framework includes the following coherent and interconnected steps that allow to investigate relationships between potato prices: unit root tests, the Toda-Yamamoto test, the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) modelling and the Bounds test for the co-integration, the Error Correction Term (ECT) estimation applying the ARDL Error Correction Regression. The Toda-Yamamoto test demonstrates a bidirectional movement between producer and retail prices on the Lithuanian potato market, while, in Poland, the price setting moves from producer to retailer. Bounds tests confirm the presence of the long run relationships for vertical and horizontal potato price transmission of the small producing country.

Global agri-food trade is undergoing profound structural change, driven by escalating geopolitical tensions, climate-related shocks, and evolving market dynamics. Agri-food trade has become central to food security, shaping access and availability across diverse regions. Recent trends indicate a modest resurgence in agricultural trade as a share of total global trade and a growing regionalisation of trade flows.
Technical measures aimed at environmental protection are increasing both in number and scope. However, their effects on trade are challenging to identify due to their qualitative nature and the broad range of requirements they encompass. We integrate existing data on environmental measures and apply recent advancements in gravity model methodology to assess the full extent of their effects. We use national trade flows to account for the border effects of environmental measures. Our analysis demonstrates that environmental measures tend to restrict trade.

To achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, China must efficiently allocate initial carbon emissions and energy quotas in the power sector. However, prior studies have primarily focused on quota allocation within individual markets and ignored the market development stages. This paper proposes an Energy-Quota and Carbon-Quota Allocation Model (ECAM) that combines an equitable allocation scheme with an efficient allocation scheme based on zerosum gain data envelopment analysis (ZSG-DEA) through the entropy weight method.

Greenhushing, the downplaying of sustainability communications, undermines trust because transparency is crucial for shaping consumer choices. We investigate how greenhushing manifests in services and why organizations carefully promote sustainability. By analyzing the online content and sustainability ratings of 300 hotels, we identify widespread greenhushing, especially among less sustainable hotels.

As an interconnected network, the food supply chain links multiple actors across production, processing, distribution and consumption. While it plays a vital role in ensuring food security, safety and economic resilience, the sector also faces growing challenges related to its environmental impact and long-term sustainability. Addressing these issues requires a systemic shift toward sustainable circular supply chain models that support net-zero objectives, ecarbonization pathways, and ecosystem-wide coordination.

Energy security is gaining growing recognition as a key pillar of societal development, shaping not only economic growth and social stability but also broader geopolitical and environmental considerations. Initially confined to concerns of resource availability, affordability, and reliability, the concept has expanded to address complex, interrelated challenges, including resilience, sustainability, and equity. This article provides a systematic critical review of the measures of energy security, delving into its evolving conceptualization and diverse assessment frameworks, drawing attention to the increasing importance of integrating social dimension.
Promotion of renewable energy sources (RES) has become increasingly important across the globe due to the sustainable development goals. Countries without fossil energy endowments are especially keen to embark on the introduction of additional RES in the energy mix. The agricultural sector rewards particular attention as land used for RES increases pressure for other activities in rural areas.
The present study introduces a sophisticated index of the susceptibility of the dairy sectors of various EU countries to external turbulence. The index, created using the technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution multi-criteria decision-analysis using monthly data from January 2015 to July 2023, allows us to comprehensively evaluate the susceptibility of the European dairy sector to external shocks and to identify particular regions or countries that require additional support from regulatory bodies even before the negative external shocks affects the respective regions. Regulators can thus act proactively to increase the resilience of the dairy sector to avoid serious negative effects.

Energy is an indispensable and critical driver of global economic development. China's crude energy consumption pattern and the increasingly serious energy mismatch (EM) problem of industrial enterprises, addressing mismatches in the marginal output of energy factors, have become a formidable challenge. This study utilized panel data of 2199 industrial enterprises in China from to 2005–2015 to measure energy output elasticity, the EM coefficients of industrial enterprises, and their influencing factors via the stochastic frontier approach (SFA).
