The subject of this article is an analysis of current state and employment perspectives in the hotel industry of Croatia and Montenegro. This paper aims to investigate the role of the hotel industry in direct and indirect em-ployment. To correctly assess the importance of the hotel industry in em-ployment, the paper analyses the factors upon which hotel industry em-ployment is dependent and develops an econometric model to estimate the number of hotel industry employees and the capacity of the hotel industry to create the total number of jobs.

Capacity utilization (CU) measures may show the potential for production growth under improved availability of the (variable and fixed) inputs. However, the environmental constraints should be considered when taking the production decisions. These questions are important in the context of the agricultural sector that needs to ensure food security and sustainability. This paper proposes a novel approach that integrates weak disposability technology with observation-specific abatement factors with input- and output-orientated capacity utilization measures in the short and long run.

Throughout three decades of intensive economic development, the Chinese agricultural sector made significant progress. Animal husbandry, which accounts for about a quarter of total agricultural output, has also maintained fast growth during this period. China has turned into the biggest carbon emitter in the world since 2006. As an important part of agriculture, husbandry also contributes much to carbon emissions, even though was often ignored in the earlier research.

Interval-valued functional clustering is a novel approach for functional data analysis where each observation is represented by an interval. Existing interval-valued functional clustering methods typically rely on the interval-valued functional Hausdorff distance, which considers the upper and lower bounds of interval-valued functions but ignores the distribution of the original interval-valued data. This study proposes an interval-valued functional clustering method based on the Wasserstein distance to address this shortcoming.

Addressing the multi-criteria group decision making problem with interval attribute values and attribute weights, this paper proposes a decision method based on attribute distribution information. The selection of green suppliers is taken as an example for decision analysis.

Creation of sustainable society and transition to low-carbon energy system are the main priorities of the EU policy. Energy poverty(EP) is one of the most important social problems linked to low-carbon transition as creation of carbon neutral societies requires to address other important sustainability issues linked with carbon-free future. Although assessment of EP is a prerequisite for designing policy initiatives to alleviate the problem.
This paper estimates the eco-efficiency, shadow price and margina abatement costsof dairy farms in Lithuania based on Farm Accounting Data Network (FADN) data from 2015, 2017, and 2019. The Slacks-Based Measure-Data Envelopment Analysis (SBM-DEA) model is applied for approximating the environmental production technology.
Green transformation at the beginning of the 21st century occupies the top positions in modern society’s sustainability transition research and policy debates due to its multiple propositions of various innovations, addressing the still unsolved issues of rapidly on-going societal and technological changes. Rooting from the general climate change concerns, recently, sustainability transformation has become a special focus in the EU, which is facing new and very concrete demands—to elucidate the evidence-based pathways towards the green transformation with European Green Deal and European Climate Law targets ahead.
Raw sheep wool preparation processes are closely related to the use of environmentally harmful raw materials. To solve this problem, alternative ways of cleaning wool, often called environmentally friendly, are being sought. In this research, the possibilities of using Lithuanian wool for the production of thermal insulation materials were investigated. For this purpose, 4 tons of raw wool of different breeds of sheep was selected from various Lithuanian sheep breeders’ farms.

In recent years, humanity has faced with multiple crises, both of economic and environmental nature. Among the key reasons for such turbulences, the deteriorating agri-environmental situation appears as an important facet. This article evaluates agri-environmental situation of selected European Union (EU) countries using the multi-criteria decision making methods (SAW, TOPSIS, and EDAS) to identify the potential strategies for improvement of agricultural activities and environmental situation in general.
